Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas everyone! Wishing everyone time with family and friends and many cherished memories.
We had the most awesome Christmas ever!!! On Christmas Eve we all went over to my moms house and chilled. We had dinner and let the girls open their presents from nana and papa. On Christmas morning nana and papa and myself went over to Jasons house to watch the girls open their presents from him. We had a brunch while over there. Then after that I brough the girls home with me and Louis went and got Rachel and we had Christmas at our house. We did something different this year and it was a BLAST! They each got a certain dollar amount for their main or big gift, then we went to the dollar store and bought them each 20 different junk items and wrapped them all up. Each girl was assigned a color star- Bella was gold, Rachel was green and Zoe was red. The presents were all stickered with the star stickers and the presents were strung all over the place. The girls had to go hunt down all their presents. Once everyone gathered everything up it was time to rip into them. They LOVED it. We had a blast watching them open everything. We have absolutely NO expectations of this stuff to last any more than Christmas day, but thats the fun of it. They all got their big gifts, but then just a bunch of fun stuff to dink around with.
A picture of all the loot from us. |

Snoop Dogg
We met our friends Marcie and Cole for dinner and then over to the Revolution concert house for the Snoop Dogg concert. We had fun, but let's just put it this way- after he was 4 hours late getting on stage, we were ready to go and didn't even stay for the whole thing. Anyways, here are a few horrible cell phone pics of the "Dogg" himself. :)

Ricki
Santa Claus sent us an Elf on the Shelf. Bella and Zoe are CONVINCED this thing is real, and letm e tell you it works WONDERS. We have presents under our tree and were having problems keeping Zoe out, as soon as Ricki- our Elf, showed up and started watching their behavior so she could report it to santa....all choas stopped. The presents were left alone and the only words that have to be uttered are ....Ricki is watching. Every night before we go to bed we move her to a different location and in the morning its a race to see who can find her new hiding spot first. It is seriously te coolest thing.

Decorating at Nana's House
We took the girls swimming at the YMCA today, tried to burn some of their energy off.....TRIED. :) They did good, anyways, after swimming it was time to go to nana and papa's house to have lunch and let the girls decorate for Christmas. My parents had gotten a MASSIVE tree this year, so it was fun to watch the girls just have a hay day putting stuff everywhere!

Buttermilk Syrup
I had never heard of this until I went down to SE Idaho with my future fiance for the first time. His mother had it, and let me tell you....it is fantastic!!!
There is a little store called Prepared Pantry not far from her house that you can get mix for this stuff and it is super yummy, but this is the homemade version.
I haven't tried it, but wanted to post it so you all could enjoy it just as much as my family does.
Ingredients:
1 c sugar
1/2 c buttermilk
1/2 c butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
Directions:
Bring sugar, buttermilk and butter o a boil. then stir in vanilla and soda.
This will foam up, make ahead so the foam goes down a little bit
serve warm over pancakes, waffles, french toast, ice cream.etc!
