Rachel's Piano Recital

Rachel had a piano recital the other day and she did so well. We are very proud of her. She has been taking piano lessons for about two years now I believe and you can really tell the improvement she has made. Her piece seemed so mature for her 8 years of age. She had pedal work and all sorts of stuff! Way to go Rachel, we love you and are super proud of you.

Proud of her 'Oscar'. :)

Zoe's lunch and Star Student

Last Friday was a big day in Zoe's life. Not only did she get to go out to lunch during a school day with me, but she also got to be the Star Student.

Most of us remember this or something similar from our own childhood. Basically, its where one child a week is the center of attention. She got to make a big poster of herself- picture, fun facts, favorite things, etc. All throughout the week she got to be a special helper to the teacher. She got to be the line leader, help pass out papers, that kind of stuff, and then on Friday, Louis and I, and her dad went to the school for her presentation. She showed off her poster and then shared a bunch of scrapbook photos as well as a few of her favorite stuffed animals. She got to wear a special microphone thing around her neck and call on kids to answer their questions. She was sooo in her element. That kid LOOOOVES attention.

It is tradition in our house to get to go out to eat on your birthday if you're at school. Zoe chose McDonald's. Surprised? I think not. Toys, cheeseburgers, fries, play areas....what's not to love when you're six!!!  I'm not a fan on McDonalds, other than their sweet tea, but who am I to say no to my kiddos. :) We finished off lunch with a cinn-a-melt, and THAT was the best part. She was thrilled to go back to school with a McDonalds cup and toy to show all her friends.

Then it was on to the Star Student Presentation!!!

2014 Photo Dumps I

Just a few random things going on in our lives right now:

*Louis- finishing up a super busy month at work. March is the end of their fiscal year, so it is always super busy. They've been pushing for one last 3 million dollar account, and if that goes through it could double their expected bonuses. Down side to all of that is the push- tons of work...at all hours. He's handling it well, but we will both be happy when he has a minute to breathe. This month is also the month he is expecting his raise to go through.

*Meagan- I'm probably the most boring of all- in March at least, in April, everything takes off with a BANG! I have EXACTLY 28 days from todays date until my surgery. I have a pre-op on the 13th. It's coming close. My thirtieth birthday is on Easter, which is the 20th of April, and then we have Glitch Mob tickets the 29th of April and then we leave for Vegas the 30th of April. I'm not sure what Im going to do with myself once we get back from Vegas, I'm gonna be bored as a gourd I think. :) AND, on a different note....I got my IUD replaced. I know that isn't generally something you rant about on a blog, BUT they got it out without surgery....so I was a happy mamacita!!

*Rachel- Not a whole lot going on with Miss Rachel. Still going to dance lessons and year 'round school. Her schedule is a bit different than the other two.

*Bella- Finishing up basketball. Getting ready to try out for a Spring soccer league. 8th birthday is in 2 weeks.

*Zoe- Obviously just turned 6. Finishing up kindergarten.

Here are some random pics off the trust iphone:

Mazzer's bein' such a good bad girl!

Rachel had to make an invention for a little presentation at school. She made the Mail-O-Matic, and automatic mailbox that travels from its post to your window so you don't have to go outside in the rain or snow. She was giving us her presentation.

The Mail-O-Matic

Zo and Kaiser...poor dog

We went out to Chinese food last weekend. This is how dinner started......

....and this......

and this...is how it ended. :)

I love this mutt. We just got the HUGEST box of dog bones at Costco and we were trying to teach her to balance it on her nose, she wanted to eat it so bad. She looks like she's in trouble with her ears pinned to her head...

Taking pics of myself waiting in a rainy car for the girls to get out of school

Zoe's Birthday Dinner

Zoe's birthday festivities were pretty low key this year. We had been celebrating for a few weeks here and there, so last night was really just dinner, cake, and presents. We did stop after school and got a doughnut at our favorite local little shop, the one down on 13th and State. Then we all went to nana and papa's house where we had a fondue feast, as per Zoe's request and then gorged on cake .

She also got to be 'Star Student' at school which means a variety of things, but mostly you get to be line leader, and help the teacher pass out papers and stuff and do a little presentation of yourself with pictures and show and tell items and stuff. She's been waiting for this all year long!

Happy Birthday Zo

This day six years ago, Zoe was born. I remember the day clearly...it was a scheduled c-section so it was basically nothing more than a doctors visit, but I left with a baby. Crazy. Zo, you have grown into an amazing little girl. You are smart and funny, caring, compassionate and so much fun. We all love you so much and look forward to spending so many more birthdays with you!!
