Goodbye GG

On May 31st we said goodbye to GG, my great grandmother. At 91 years of age she was disease free- no cancer, alzheimers, dementia or anything. She lived on her own in her own home without anyone coming in to help- she was in perfect health, except for some mild back pain. On Sunday, May 19th, she was climbing, yes CLIMBING on her cupboards to get a platter, for what- who knows, but she decided she HAD to have it. Long story short she fell and broke her hip. She was taken to the ER and of course it needed to be surgically repaired. During surgery she had a massive stroke and never made it out. She didn't die immediately, but was in a coma with the majority of her brain dead. She was transferred to a nursing facility to live out her final hours or days. She was not on any life support of and kind. She was breathing on her own, but was being given moriphine every two hours for her comfort.

I feel blessed that not only I, but also the girls hadher in our lives. Not many people can say they got the chance to meet their grandmother's grandmother. We are fortunate that she went in such a merciful way and will think about her and miss her greatly.

We love you GG.
