We made it home safely from our trip to Provo on Friday. We had a really nice time. It was just the two of us, so it was nice for some down time.
We drove down on Wednesday. We made it to Salt Lake around 5:30 or so, so we stopped and met Louis' sister Leslie and her three daughters for dinner. After dinner we headed to Provo and got checked into the hotel. Since he was there on business we had a really nice room at the marriott with concierge lounge services and stuff, so we went up there and had dessert and tea and then went back down to the room. He had a meeting with some people that evening around 8:30. I stayed in the hotel room of course and wound up falling asleep before he made it back to the room at ten.
In the morning we woke up and had some breakfast and then Louis had to boogie out to go to his main meeting with the head of electricity for the City of Provo. The meeting was over around two, but while he was gone I took the much needed down time to literally do nothing. I layed in bed and watched the Food Network, took two showers, had some snacks, crocheted a little bit, and thats about it. By the time I had taken my last shower and cleaned myself up a bit, he was back and we headed out.
We started back in towards Salt Lake but he HAD to stop at Ikea first. I love, love, love Ikea and any time we go somewhere they have one, it is always on our list of places to go. We wandered through and had fun. It's always neat to see all the rooms set-up and things you can do....and for so cheap. I would be in serious trouble if we lived closer to one. :) Anyways, we wandered through about 90% of it when I had finally had enough. I was getting dizzy and had a headache and I needed to eat.
My co-worker, Jon, recommended this Mexican place called The Red Iguana, and it was amazing. We made it there about 10 minutes to five thinking that we'd beat any crowds....not so lucky. They were packed, but we got a seat in a little secluded nook where it was just the two of us.They specialize in making about 10 different kinds of mole sauce and they bring samples of them out on a little saucer for you to try. Louis wound up getting mango enchiladas. They had pork in them and a mango mole sauce. Super good. Unique. I had a shredded beef enchilada and it was super good as well. We would both highly recommend it to anyone heading that direction anytime in the near future.
After dinner we went back to our room, got dessert and hung out together for the rest of the evening. It was so, so nice to be able to lay around with him without having to get up and he;lp the girls with something, make dinner, do laundry, let the dogs out and all that kind of fun stuff that goes along with the daily territory....not that I mind!
Friday we headed home, but not before one more trip to Ikea to actual purchase some stuff I didn't have to patience to do the day before. After our mad dash shopping spree, we made a stop at In-N-Out burger YUMMY!!!, and headed home. The roads were bad around Snowville, but cleared up a bit once we crossed the state line.
It was a fun little get away and was nice to rejuvenate with just my lover and me! :)

I know I look like a geek with my hand up, but I had just gotten my blood drawn and I was holding a cotton ball on my puncture wound. :) |

Louis' last name is Provost.....one of his long ago relatives actually settle Provo...hence the name. This is a statue of that guy. We took a picture to send to his dad since he had never seen it. |
