I've got the bug. The buying bug. I want something. I wanna buy something. Something big. Like a car, or a house.
I've been looking at both. Truthfully, I'm not ready or in a position to buy either. I just paid my car off, and while it is anything but fancy, racy or pretty, it is reliable, functional, and did I mention- paid off?
We are certainly in no position to buy a house either. There are a million things that need to happen before we can even begin to THINK about buying a house, but I have been looking. I put our income into a calculator to roughly estimate how much house we could afford. That got the ball rolling. I was shocked at what it had to say, so I immediately had to start looking at what a house in that range looked like....and caught the BUG in the meantime. I'm ready for a big, fancy house, but good things come to those who wait. SIGH. Our little house is perfect for now. Location is fantastic, it's cheap, and right next door to my job, but it is small, and not ours.
Then I've moved down to smaller purchases- furniture, appliances, that kind of stuff. I have managed to talk myself out of all that too. When we buy a house we are going to want to buy stuff to fit in THAT house, not this one. Might as well just wait.
Then I figured maybe I will just settle on re-doing the girls bathroom......or buy some curtains for the living room windows, or maybe a few pillows and a rug???? The possibilities are endless.....
LOVER...where are you??? Stop me!!! :)

Bella's Birthday Party at Wahooz
Bella opted to have a SMALL birthday party this year. She chose Wahooz...again. This year we wisened up and only allowed her to invite 8 kids, versus the 17 she had attend last year. That is way too many kids to keep an eye on. I was shocked that she wanted to go to Wahooz again this year. I was sure she would pick something a little more exotic for lack of better words, but no dice, so Wahooz, again, it was. She was happy and so were all of her little friends, so that's all the matters. Anyways, here are a few pictures:

Bella's Birthday Lunch and Dinner
Last Friday was Bella's 8th birthday, and as tradition holds in our house, she got to go out to lunch. She went back and forth between several places- Noodles & Company, McDonalds, Port of Subs, and a few others, before she surprised us by choosing Subway. Her dad and I took her, Louis was super busy at work and unable to make it.
Then for dinner we went over to my moms house. She requested spaghetti for her birthday dinner, and that is super easy! I went to nana and papa's house, got a big pot of sauce going, her dad came over, and we all had a little birthday gathering for her with just family.
Don't ask me about this face...all the little weirdo was trying to do is open her juice box straw!!! |
There's my pretty girl!!!! |

Bluury...sorry. She wanted One Direction but they didn't have it, so we settled on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles |
A new suitcase for her trip to San Diego this summer. Thanks nana and papa |
Bella was quite pleased..... |
Opening her long board...yes she convinced us that she needed one.... |
She's a natural. She hopped on that bad boy and was halfway down the block before I even knew it. |
Zoe wanted a try...she needed a little more help.. :) On top of all of it she also got concert tickets to One Republic coming in June as well as a karaoke machine. |

No going back now
So this last Thursday was my pre-op appointment. It was my last chance to change anything- the size, the shape...my mind. It is all set in stone. We sent in the order to St.Lukes for 450cc implants. They supply the implant so they have to order them. It gets paid in three separate ways: the surgeon gets his $2500 fee for performing the surgery, St.Lukes gets about $2700 for the surgical fee and implants, and then the anesthesia group gets $710. Louis just paid with his debit card for the surgeon on Thursday and then you just call the billing office of the other two places and they'll take his debit card number over the phone.
I received my prescriptions: percocet for pain, an antibiotic, and zofran for nausea. I also received my post op instructions and post op bra....stylin' let me tell ya. It looks like an old lady bra with about 6 hooks going down the front. Not exactly what I had envisioned. :)
Basically the day of the surgery after I wake up I will be wrapped extremely tightly in an ace bandage. That bandage doesn't get removed at all until the next day at my post op appointment...basically I don't even get to see them until 24 hours after they are done. At my post op, they will undo the bandages, check them out, and then wrap me back up. The third day I can finally take the bandage off for about 1-2 hours and take a bath or shower, but then have to wrap back up, and then on the fourth I have to leave the bandages off for 24 hours, THEN, I put the post-op bra on. Whew!! Crazy!!
They say only about 3-4 days recovery time. Hopefully that holds true. I guess when you wake up you breathe really shallow because your chest muscles are so tight. Val, the surgeon's nurse, said not to panic its just the way it goes for about the first day. Im afraid Im going to come out from under the anesthesia and go flip mode because I feel like I can breathe. You also can't really lay flat for a while, it feels better to lay in a reclined position. Long story short before surgery Im going to have to get the house ready to come home to- everything down at hand level, no lifting over my head or up for a bit, no lifting anything heavier than a gallon of milk, laying reclined, not flat.
Tomorrow is the two week mark. I know its going to fly by, but it is still surreal in a way. It started to hit home once he paid for them and I got prescriptions and stuff, buy it still seems like a dream!!

Rachel's Piano Recital
Rachel had a piano recital the other day and she did so well. We are very proud of her. She has been taking piano lessons for about two years now I believe and you can really tell the improvement she has made. Her piece seemed so mature for her 8 years of age. She had pedal work and all sorts of stuff! Way to go Rachel, we love you and are super proud of you.

Zoe's lunch and Star Student
Last Friday was a big day in Zoe's life. Not only did she get to go out to lunch during a school day with me, but she also got to be the Star Student.
Most of us remember this or something similar from our own childhood. Basically, its where one child a week is the center of attention. She got to make a big poster of herself- picture, fun facts, favorite things, etc. All throughout the week she got to be a special helper to the teacher. She got to be the line leader, help pass out papers, that kind of stuff, and then on Friday, Louis and I, and her dad went to the school for her presentation. She showed off her poster and then shared a bunch of scrapbook photos as well as a few of her favorite stuffed animals. She got to wear a special microphone thing around her neck and call on kids to answer their questions. She was sooo in her element. That kid LOOOOVES attention.
It is tradition in our house to get to go out to eat on your birthday if you're at school. Zoe chose McDonald's. Surprised? I think not. Toys, cheeseburgers, fries, play areas....what's not to love when you're six!!! I'm not a fan on McDonalds, other than their sweet tea, but who am I to say no to my kiddos. :) We finished off lunch with a cinn-a-melt, and THAT was the best part. She was thrilled to go back to school with a McDonalds cup and toy to show all her friends.
Then it was on to the Star Student Presentation!!!
