We are getting ready to leave on our five day vacation to Seattle in just a couple days. I am SUPER excited about that. We are going to Pike Place, the Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, Seattle Aquarium, a ferry ride, and of course...the coveted One Direction concert!
We made the girls a deal- we will take you and pay for you to get in to the attractions and pay for the food, etc, but they needed to earn their own spending money. We gave them each a chore list and gave them all the opportunity to earn up to 100$ cold hard cash to spend on this trip. They all rose to the occasion and did what needed to be done. Now, it's the task of teaching them to budget their money. They are going to want to blow it all on the first day of course, but they are going to have to practice a bit of self control. :)
Here are the other happenings for each of us:
Louis: Super busy at work. His fiscal year ends in April and it typically slows down- not this year however. Bad for him, good for his wallet though. He gets his bonus this month which is always worth the last years hard work! He got a raspberry pi for Father's Day so he is making this hardcore gaming system with it. Keeping him entertained. :)
Meagan: I am still chugging along working three 12 hour shifts a week. Playing house keeper, chef, taxi driver, entertainment consultant, party planner, personal assistant, and laundry service the off days. I am also in the process of starting a new endeavor in my education ....more on that later. We are looking into moving in the near future, so that is also occupying some of my time. I have started a new art hobby so that is my down time activity for now. It's soothing and quite therapeutic.
Rachel: Off for the summer. Rachel is still doing piano and violin lessons. She has opted to not do dance this year. She will enter into the fifth grade and will be her last year in elementary school! She has a trip to Glacier with her mom coming up.
Bella: Joined the competitive soccer league, so that is going to keep her insanely busy. She is required to 50,000 ball touches in 7 weeks. She has 3 practices a week and at least 1 game on the weekend if not 2. She has to watch videos and do homework. She will be entering into the 4th grade. Unbelievable!!!
Zoe: Started gymnastics at Bronco Elite. Loves it. She will go into the 2nd grade. Zoe has decided she needs a tortoise as a personal pet. We finally agreed to get her one as soon as we move into a bigger house and can get an appropriate place to house it. I told her that we wouldn't be getting one unless she did research on it. She needed to know how to care for it, how to clean its habitat, what to feed it, etc. I got a text from her the other day that she had written a report. It was so cute! I was proud of her for doing research!
We will all be heading down to SE Idaho in August to visit Louis' parents for about five days. We will probably hold to tradition and go to Yellowstone and some of our other regular activities, but it is usually a pretty low key event.
Other thank that there is not a whole lot going on! :)
