Blush Creek

As I mentioned before, we are renting some really amazing things for the wedding. It is going to be a rustic ceremony, so I wanted to find some items that I could really play up that theme. There is a local place, well Middleton, that has the most awesome items. They will let you pick out individual pieces, or you can hire them to come out and do a few set up areas for you. Either way, Ashley, the owner, is great. She is prompt, easy to work with and so friendly and helpful!!  You should check out her website at Blush Creek.

Anyways, I got my price quote and contract today, so therefore I signed that puppy, wrote ANOTHER check, and mailed it all right back in!

I ended up renting 3 wine barrels, 5 antique doors, a bird cage, a vintage window frame and 5 cake plates.  So excited!!
here is a snapshot of the items I've rented

Wedding Planning Update

So our saga continues. SOOOO much to do, and it seems like so little time! Admittedly, I am quite ahead of the game, so hopefully it all works out, but it seems like I am never going to get all this done!

I have the sketches drawn up for the ceremony and reception setup and lay outs. I have all the different tables sketched out and running lists of the items I need to purchase vs rent.

I have a meeting set up with out caterer to discuss and finalize the menu- more on this later, as well as a meeting with one of the two potential photographers we are going to hire.

I have the guest list mostly done, just need a few revisions. We are trying sooo hard to keep the invitation list under 100, ideally 50 people, but it doesn't always work out that way. I have no desire to invite people just because it is polite or the expected thing to do. There are very specific people I want at my wedding and even more so that I don't, so why waste money, time and effort on these people you could care less about....besides, they don't really want to waste a fall day at your wedding any more than you want to pay for them to be there!

I have the wedding favors, room décor, dessert table, stage area and all that kind of fun stuff figured out with lists EVERYWHERE, with all the things we need to start gathering up, and who is going to be responsible for what.

The invitations are well on their way to being done. I have all the components, I just need to get them put together.

The honeymoon has been DECIDED....more on this later too! :)

So, some of the nitty gritty details are as follows:

Theme: Rustic/ Fall
Setting: Barn
Colors: brown and burnt orange, touches of yellow and burgundy....leafish colors, lots of burlap

There are going to be hay bales and leaves and pumpkins all over the place!

I found an AMAZING local website who rents out all sorts of vintage and totally awesome décor- so she is putting together a price quote for me including antique doors, wine barrels, etc.

I have already purchased some of the fun little things: shepherds hooks- thank you Pier 1 for having EXACTLY what I wanted...."P" stamp and wax for the invitations,  twine, quart mason jars, 15 burlap table runners, small galvanized tubs with burlap, and paper straws

I wanna tell you guys all about my ideas and stuff, but then nothing will be a surprise!! Cant have that....

Western Idaho Fair 2015

We took the girls to the fair as an end of summer blow out on Saturday...it was INSANE! I have never seen so many people there! It was fun, but after being there for almost 6 hours and blowing over 300$, we decided it was indeed, time to go home! :)

Zoe went with her friend Stella at three, but I didn't want to hang out in the heat, so the other two and Louis and I went about 6 ish. We rode rides, plated games, did spin art, ate waaaay too much food and enjoyed ourselves until well past 11 o'clock.

First Day of School 2015

Well, it was Bella and Zoe's first day of school on Monday- 4th and 2nd grade...insane. I can't believe how fast it truly does fly by!  Rachel started school on the 10th of August, so she has been back in the swing of things for about two full weeks now. She is in 5th grade. I hope all three girls have an amazing year back at school!

Venue

Our Venue is booked!!! I was having a hard time, but ran across the perfect location this morning. I emailed them and they already had almost every Saturday in October of 2016 booked and even into November, but they just so happened to have our date available! I was so excited. I sent Louis over immediately with the money and now I have the paid in full receipt in my hand and our date and venue locked in!! Woohoo!! So excited. I don't wanna give all the gory details out yet, but I will give you guys a little sneak peak into the inside... :)

Wedding Planning

So..the plans have commenced! We have a date set-

October 22, 2016.

Our five year anniversary is 10/21/2016, but that is a Friday and I don't want to get married on a Friday, so we are going the next best day- the 22nd. :)

We have started to look at venues. I have chosen a couple, but are running into some issues with the indoor/outdoor thing. Since we have opted for an October wedding we need a venue with an indoor AND outdoor capability. I want the ceremony outside and the reception inside, so that really limits our choices. We have looked at the train depot already, and have a few wineries on our list. We are still looking around too.

I have appointments with two photographers. Pictures are a big deal to me, so I'm not really looking to go cheap with this part especially. I know anyone can take a picture, but it is really the one piece you have that will last forever. SO, I want them to be spectacular, and not just someone with a fancy camera that points and shoots. I want at least two photographers and I want them all day. Therefore, we are looking at a pretty hefty chunk...oh well.....it's worth it! :)

I have also started talking to some caterers. I haven't quite decided if I am going to go with a serviced buffet or with a seated/served dinner, but I do know at the very least it will be a full meal. I'm not into just appetizers or even worse just a dessert reception. If I go with a serviced buffet, I want a chicken and a beef choice, a salad, a vegetable, a starch, and bread. Then of course, pretty much the same type of choice with a seated meal. I've gotten some menu selections and pricing info, so it's just boiling down to where we go for the venue and whether we use their in house catering or if we get to bring in a caterer of our choosing.

I think there are areas to cut corners and there are areas your definitely don't cut corners, and pictures, venue, dress and food are the areas I am not cutting corners. The invitations and such I am not nearly concerned with and flowers are really pretty low on my list too. I'm not a big flower fan....I want a bouquet, but really other than that, don't plan on many flowers.

I THINK I have decided on a mermaid/trumpet style dress. Totally opposite of anything I thought I'd ever want, but I want something that is really fitted with a nice train. I think I'm going to skip the veil...go a little more modern maybe.

We are looking into our honeymoon locations. We've tossed around Punta Cana, Turks and Caicos, Belize, and even Italy. I really wanna go to Italy, but Louis really likes the beach.... I guess we will see what wins out in the end. We are planning on heading out the Monday after our wedding for an immediate get away! Let me say, as much as I am looking forward to marrying the love of my life...I am SOOOO excited for the honeymoon part! :)

Chester 2015

On Saturday night we went to the St.Anthony sand dunes and then went out to dinner at a little local Mexican place. It was good!

Chester 2015: West Yellowstone/ Yellowstone

On Friday we went to West Yellowstone and then into Yellowstone. It is always a pretty good time. We normally don't explore West Yellowstone but we decided to make more of a full day out of the adventure instead of just driving through to Old Faithful, eating at the lodge, and then coming home. I'm glad we did. It was a good time! :)
