I received a phone call on December 10, that my maternal grandmother, Grandma Rose, had passed away.
She laid down in her bed for a nap, and never woke up.
She was starting to go downhill a bit, but in her mid 80's, she was still 100% lucid and coherent. She lived in her own home, drove her own car, shopped, dined out, and really just lived her best life up until the very end.
My grandfather passed about 3-4 years ago, and she's been ready ever since and my Uncle Matt, the only boy of the family, passed away about 5-6 years ago, so she had plenty of people to greet her. :)
Her services were on Friday, January 7th. May you Rest in Peace Granny Rose
