So as you all know, the girls went to Florida for almost 2 weeks in March. They left on the 15th and came home on the 26th, there were a few hiccups, mostly getting home, but all in all they had the time of their little lives!!
They left here bright and early, flew to Denver and then in to Orlando. Once in Orlando, they picked up a rental car and headed to Disney World. For the first two nights/days, they stayed in the Pirates of the Caribbean room at one of the hotels in Disney World. Fireworks, lagoon cruises, splash mountain, teacups- you name it, they did it. They were going to spend one day at the Magic Kingdom and then one day at Epcot, but once they got there, they changed their minds, so they spent both days at the Magic Kingdom.
On Friday, they headed across Florida, from Orlando to the Tampa area to go to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, or CMA, which is where Wynter and Hope, the dolphins from the dolphin tale movies are. Zoe has been writing them letter for over a year, and they've been writing her back, so needless to say she was super excited for this. They got to do some really awesome things, including a VIP behind the scenes tour that the public doesn't typically get to go one, and even got to touch Hope, the dolphin. They also got to go out on a boat into the ocean with them and collect marine samples, and they even pulled up a huge sting ray, which apparently has never happened before.
They only spent one night in the Tampa area, and then it was time to head to the condo in Daytona Beach, and stay there as the home base for the next week.
On Sunday, they went down the Coast a bit to NASA. NASA has a launch/educational site in Cape Canaveral Florida, called the Kennedy Space Center. There are all sorts of really awesome things for them to do here. They got to go in a launch simulator, watch an actual launch (they launched supplies to the international space station), they met an actual astronaut that had been in space, got to see the shuttle atlantis, and a million other things. This came at the best time ever for Bella, the day before the left for Florida she had to do a biography presentation in school on Neil Armstrong, so she was all in to this, and if you ask her, it was her favorite thing!
They spent the next couple days cruising around up and down the Atlantic coast. They went to Cocoa Beach, Ponce de Leon lighthouse, and my probably MY favorite place in Florida- St.Augustine. They got
to eat at all my favorite restaurants and do all sorts of things I did when I was their age. They had an amazing time.
On the way way home there flight out of Orlando was 90 minutes late departing, meaning they missed their connecting flight in San Francisco, and the best they could do was leave them in San Fran over night and then get them to Twin Falls on Saturday at about noon- I was mad, after not seeing them for 11 days, one more day was all I needed, but luckily, all was well of course!!
