Idaho City 2016

We took the girls on a little day adventure yesterday.  It was spur of the moment, as I was cooking chocolate chip waffles for them, that I decided we should get out of the house, and go enjoy the beautiful spring weather.  Fortunately, living in Idaho, there is an abundance of 'outdoorsy' things to do, all within a very short drive.

For this adventure, we decided to head up to Idaho City.  It is a tiny town about 40 miles outside of Boise in the mountains.  It used to be an old mining town, but now only boasts a population of a whopping 480 (ish).  It has a small historic downtown area, sort of a ghost town type of thing, with a few restaurants, bars and that's about it.  There's a place called Trudy's that is supposed to have really good pie- we WERE going to check it out, but the girls all decided on ice cream...so we had ice cream instead... :)

We packed little bagged lunches for everyone and in about an hour we were there.  Within about 2 hours we had seen all there was to see and had our lunches and ice cream.  It was a lot of fun and we look forward to taking another outdoor adventure soon!! :)
