New Year's Eve-2017

This year we celebrated old school- and to us old school means no kids, and a night on the town....use that phrase loosely....

Anyways, I got a call from my BFF Marcie wanting to know what we were doing on NYE and if we had the girls.  Now, for the last five years, Marcie has had a child friendly (and encouraged) NYE party at her house, so I just assumed that is what she was doing again, so I automatically said yea, we will have the girls, BUT then she dropped a bomb- this year the got a baby sitter and wanted to do something out and about, but low key.  You see, we're all old now and have kids and what not, so our 'partying' days are long over. Since NYE was on a Sunday, it was a day the girls were supposed to be  with their dad, so after verifying that my mom could watch the little beasties, we jumped at the opportunity. :)

So, we dressed up a little and went down to Barbacoa.  It was OK.  Honestly, for the money spent, I do have other restaurants I prefer, but it was definitely a hot joint for NYE, which is what we were going for and we all had a good time.  After Barbacoa we headed home and my lover and I rang in the New Year together in (quiet) happy wedded bliss. :)

Marcie and I waiting for our table- this photos is from her phone and pretty much the only clear one....as you can see Marcie is a far better picture taker than I am! :)

my lover has plastic urethane on his hands...it doesn't come off...
