I swear I make the best lasagna...not to toot my own horn or anything, but TOOT TOOT!! :) No, seriously, though, I love this stuff! Give it a go.
Ingredients:
1 pound hamburger, *can be made vegetarian with veggie crumbles
1/2 pound italian sausage, sweet or hot, your choice
1 large onion, diced
4 gloved garlic, minced
2 14 oz cans diced tomatoes
1 6 oz can tomato paste
1/4 c brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp seasoning salt
1 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp parsley

1 box oven ready lasagna noodles, i like Barilla brand

2 pounds mozzarella cheese, grated
1 large container cottage cheese ir ricotta cheese
1 tbsp parsley
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions:
Brown hamburger, italian sausage, onion and garlic. Drain fat
Stir in tomatoes, paste, sugar, salt, pepper, and herbs.
simmer for at least one hour
while sauce is simmering, combine ricotta or cottage cheese, parsley, eggs, and parmesan in bowl, put back in fridge until ready to assemble lasagna
place a thin layer of sauce on bottom of 9x13
place noodles, cottage cheese/riccota mixture, sauce, mozarrella
repeat layers three times, ending with a lyer of noodles with sauce
cover, bake at 350 for 45 minutes
remove foil, top with 1 pound mozzarrella and bake another 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbling
